San Diego Alumni Chapter Polmarch's Message

Dear Members, Family, Friends and Community Supporters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the current Polemarch (President) of the San Diego Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.  I hope your visit to our new and improved website will provide you with the information you are seeking.  If you have any questions please contact me at the phone number below, Welcome.

The San Diego Alumni Chapter, chartered on April 30, 1950, remains excited and proud to represent our Great Fraternity here in the San Diego area.  We have a rich history, and we strive to continue to Achieve in the Kappa footsteps of those Great Kappa men who have served before us in the local community and in support of the 34th Grand Polemarch, Brother Rueben A. Shelton III, Esq.

The Founders of our great Fraternity were visionaries who sought to bring together like-minded men of culture, patriotism, and honor that had a commitment to serving the public’s interest while training for leadership. As we enter this second century of Kappa, training for leadership is essential to our organizations’ development and the San Diego Alumni Chapter Brothers of Kappa are doing just that.

The current roster of the San Diego Alumni Chapter includes more than 50 active members working in various occupations.  Our members are school teachers, policemen, engineers, active duty military and retired military veterans. We also serve as doctors, lawyers, clergymen, and government employees.  Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity is determined and dedicated to continually making a difference in the San Diego community, as we have been doing for the past 70 years.

The year 2020 has been challenging as we have all experienced great change.  However, we have not let the Covid-19 pandemic or other National crisis slow us down. Through our non-profit organization, the San Diego Education and Mentoring Fund, a 501(c)(3), we have provided $12,000 in college scholarships to High School Seniors and College members of the Fraternity. The Chapter recently completed the 21st Annual Raymond T. Robinson Bike Drive, it was our most successful bike drive to date, we were able to present over $4,200 in gift cards and toys to needy families throughout the San Diego area.

The San Diego Alumni Chapter is eager to move forward into 2021.  As we celebrate our rich past, we are poised and positioned to tackle new and old challenges that are important to each one of us.  If you are a member of our Great Fraternity and in the local area, please consider becoming active and help us as we strive to help others.  If you are Family, Friend, or a Community Supporter, please consider assisting our endeavor’s through our non-profit organization, the San Diego Education and Mentoring Fund, a 501(c)(3).
